From one great race to another… A few weeks ago I ran my first Danish Championship, 10k, I found it fantastic, there was a nice atmosphere, the sun was shining and the legs were out for the first time. I managed to cut more than a minute of my PB, and had a great day with my Teammates who all created PB’s as well –guess it is a clear prove of how GREAT our squat environment is at the moment.
Anyway that is 3 weeks ago now, and this weekend I was back in Copenhagen to race. -Same story just bigger in all aspects. (Only missed the boys whom were busy with their tests home in Odense ;))

Danish Champs turned into Worlds
10k to ½ Marathon
1min PB added up to more than 3min
The atmosphere went from great to breaking every scale possible

Post-race-nice-time = The first real old-school ice-cream at a bench in the sun next to the lakes with two lovely ladies Saturday afternoon. Topped up with OTK Sunday ride and brunch to finish an amazing weekend.

It has been a big goal for me to see 35:xx on a 10K, which happened 3 weeks ago. It gave me confidence that I would be able to perform for the Worlds, and the goal was to run sub 1:20 but I had no idea how big the ”sub” could be… 18 was my ”personal secret goal”. And when I then crossed the finish line in 1:17:53 it was like a dream. I couldn’t have asked for a better day.
I owe:
Finn K big thanks for pacing me in from 16k.
Åsa and Marie for a nice post race afternoon
Christina for a great pre-race dinner.
OTK for a lovely Sunday

And the girls from school and the whole clinic Odense fysioterapi, Idrætsklinik & Fitness for a good excuse to eat cake Monday as I had promised to spoil them with some homemade goodies if I ended on the podium.

– and I did as I was 3rd in F25-29, 4th AG runner, 6th Danish female, 73th overall female and 426th of 27220 starters
Finisher medal
